The Journey of Angel On The Way
Welcome, I'm Lisa J. Smith, the founder of Angel On The Way.
Our story began back in 2011 when my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. One Sunday morning, during his illness, I needed to take my mom out for a breather, so we visited the local farmers market for some fresh air. It was there that I came across a small angel at one of the stands. Somehow, I knew I had to buy it for my dad (and perhaps for us too, looking back). Despite my dad not being one to believe in angels or such things, I brought it home and told him it was a "healing angel" that he needed to keep by his bedside. Surprisingly, he took to it and kept it close.
Thankfully, his cancer went into remission, and life seemed hopeful again. However, a few years later, the cancer returned aggressively, requiring a stem cell transplant and a grueling 30-day hospital stay. Amidst this challenging time, traditional gifts like balloons or flowers weren't suitable for his condition. Determined to uplift his spirits, I returned to the "healing angel" from his bedside. I wanted him to have a symbol of love, family, strength, faith, healing, and hope – something to remind him that he was supported and never alone, even when we couldn't be physically present.
Today, I'm grateful to say that since 2016, my dad has remained in remission and is thriving. He's always been my hero, and each day with him is a gift I cherish deeply. The healing angel still watches over my parents, a testament to resilience and hope.
This journey led me to create Angel On The Way. For years, I felt a gentle urging to share this symbol of comfort and love with others. Now, more than ever, we need gestures that spread positivity, celebrate milestones, and offer solace during tough times. Angel On The Way is for everyone – regardless of age, gender, race, or belief.
Whether it's to mark joyous occasions or offer support in difficult moments, an angel can bring comfort and encouragement.
